At the end of the eighteenth century, on the outskirts of the settlement known today as Cerviceşti, nobleman Constantin Miclescu raised a wooden church. Built of oak, with its architectural heritage and an exceptional iconographic inventory, the church is a treasure of important value.
Adormirea Maicii Domnului Church
The church building date is not known precisely, but it is assumed that the foundation would have been laid by Stefan cel Mare (Stephen the Great), after a war with the Tatars on Jijia waters, near Verbea. According to an inscription kept in Suceviţa Monastery, it is said to have been built by Isak Balica as found in the inscription of the porch. The church itself was built before the year 1612, when Hetman Balica was beheaded
