Sofian House, today the Ecumenic cultural centre

„Sofian House” was built in 1900 Neculai Sofian, former mayor of the city in a vast park (destroyed in the mid-twentieth century). Built in the Secession architectural style of Vienna by architect Davidescu, the building is unique in its architectural composition. Initially owned by Ruxandra and Nicolae Sofian, great philanthropists, who wanted to operate a nursing home in this house.
