The wooden church of Ionaseni is one of the oldest wooden churches in the country, having been built in 1234 by a predecessor of Dragos Voda.

The church was built in the seventeenth century. Displaced in the nineteenth century in Dumbrava Inalta in Vorniceni church underwent additions in 1821 and was renovated in 1868.
