Vovidenia Church is one of the big churches of Botosani city. The abode was built of stone and brick in the years 1834-1838 by the boyar families Cârstea and Varlaam (Baron Ioan Carstea, governor Gheorghe Varlaam, Girogre Varelaam and brothers). It was built in the reign of Prince Mihai Grigorie Sturza, to replace of a wooden church, that had been built by Manole Varlaam.
