Botoșani – Tudora
Tudora locality is an ethnographic centre with elements of folk art and well preserved traditions, hosting a reknown group of folk dances. In the locality there are still kept vestiges of a boyard’s court dating from the 15th-16th centuries, Cantacuzino-Pascanu House, built in 1842 – an architectural monument. Other well preserved monuments are those dedicated to the heroes of the independence war and to those of WWI. From the centre of Tudora locality the route goes on along DJ 208H to reach the house situated at the forest outskirts. The road goes on after teh tourist mark (triangle) to Plesa forest house from the reservation (approx. 45 min). Tudora Reservation is acknowledged and protected for its yew trees. This shrub of Central-European origin, with a great longevity (almost 3000 years), with a very precious wood, was highly exploited in the past, which lead to the need to declare it a protected species and natural monument. The yew reservation from Tudora was signalled since 1973 by the geographer Victor Tufescu, who used to claim that this tree was in the area as a spontaneous species that had not been planted. The reservation has a 119-hectare surface, and the area that is highly protected (where the yew tree grows), lies from Racului River to Tisa River, in the forest hill Dealu Mare that reaches a 587 m altitude.
Ipotești – Stâna Baisa – Agafton – Luceafărul Camp
The first landmark on this route is Stana Baisa, a rustic resting place for the inhabitants of Botosani City. The way to this place is a really attarctive one, with serpentines and a rich vegetation composed of oak and beech trees. In the locality called Agafton, there is a Monastery that bears the same name, dating from the 16th century. In 1814 the location becomes a nun convent, dedicated to „Pentecost” holiday. This is where the aunts of Mihai Eminescu became nuns, and one of them, Olimpiada, also ran the place for some time. In the close neighbourhood of Agafton Monastery there are two camps – Luceafarul and Codrii de Arama.
Ipotești – “Lacul cu nuferi” Chalet – Codrilor albastru lake– Stejarul Chalet
The main tourist objective of the route is „The Blue Lake of the Forests”, set in a wonderful landscape. The lake is situated in a clearing and reminds of Mihai Eminescu – the Romanian national poet and his childhood. The lake is full of yellow water lilies, which the Indians consider to be the perfect flower. This delicate plany with an exotic and exciting smell, can be admired every year, in the months of June and July. From the Blue Lake of the Forests, the vertical stripe mark leads the tourist on the left, through the forest, and after approximately 60 minutes of walking one reaches Stejarul (Oak Tree) Guesthouse, situated in the outskirts of the forest, on the national road DN 29 (10 km away from Botosani).
Ipotești – Observatory – Codrilor albastru lake
After visiting the muesum complex dedicated to Mihai Eminescu, the next tourist objective is the „Observatory” – a metallic building erected in the summer of 1989, having 87 stairs (the number of the poems that Eminescu published during his lifetime). From the top, one can admire the panoramic surroundings that Eminescu wandered through, and on days with clear sky the mountains can be seen, as well as the relay on Prut river banks. The next important landmark, „barren rock” is a belvedere place which reveals Ipotesti as in the palm of one’s hand. At the end, after the abrupt descent over the 100 metres, the tourist reaches the „Blue Lake of the Forests”.
Ștefan Aurel – manager of Vorona Vocational School
The area is situated in the South-Western extremity of Botosani County. The main landmarks and points of interest of the route are Vorona Monastery, Vorona Hermitage, The Altar in the cave, Bals Hermitage and the Table of the scoundrels.
Botoșani – Mihai Eminescu memorial house Ipotești
The route’s culminating point is the locality called Ipotesti, which hosts the memorial house of the Romanian national poet Mihai eminescu. The history of the house starts back in 1936, when the former house of the Eminovici family was rebuilt. It was restored several times over the years, the last and most notable being the one held in 1977-1979, when it was relocated on the foundation of the original one and rebuilt in the same style.
